This year Thomas' elective at the RCS was in Community Music and he has spent a very enjoyable year working with the Primary 3 class at Oakgrove Primary School on the topics of 'Electricity' and 'Knights & Castles'. Thomas created his own musical resources for these classes to make learning fun while also meeting many of the Expressive Arts Outcomes from the new Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland.
While at Wells Cathedral School working as a Graduate Music Assistant (GMA) Thomas gained a great deal of experience teaching and learning from the other world-class teachers at the school. At Wells Thomas was also asked to assist with their Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and with various different groupings within the Baroque Ensemble. He founded the school's Bassoon Ensemble, which he played with and coached on a weekly basis, and he really enjoyed working with these talented young players aged from 12 to 18 years.
